Conservation Essay should be turned in to the Dugdemona SWCD office no later than Friday, December 12, 2008.
The contest has two categories: 8th Grade and 9th Grade. The winners will be awarded with cash prizes of: $100.00, $50.00, and $25.00. This year we will reward the teacher whose student wins first place, by giving them a cash award of $100.00

Congrats to Our State Poster Contest Winners
The Dugdemona SWCD is proud to announce that two of our District Conservation Poster Contest winners went on to win at the state level. Dominik Anderson and Shanna Cooper won 1st Place in their divisions and will advance to compete in the National Poster Contest in New Orleans, Louisiana in February of 2009. Congratulations, Dominik and Shanna, we are extremely proud of you. We sincerely hope that Louisiana will have not one but two National Poster Contest winners as Louisiana hosts the National Association of Conservation Districts Convention!

We would like to thank all those who participated in Dugdemona SWCD’s Conservation Poster Contest. We thank each and every one of you for your dedication to soil and water conservation education. We truly appreciate your efforts, teachers, students, principals, contest judges, sponsors and all those who donated their time to the poster contest this year. Our activities with this contest as well as many other activities and interaction with schools, teachers and students is paramount to our success as teachers of conservation. All of the individuals involved have put conservation and the valuable lessons that we must teach our children, our future, at the forefront and have provided many positive results.
