2008 Conservation Poster Contest "Water is Life"
















We would like to thank all those who participated in Dugdemona SWCD’s Conservation Poster Contest. We thank each and every one of you for your dedication to soil and water conservation education. We truly appreciate your efforts, teachers, students, principals, contest judges, sponsors and all those who donated their time to the poster contest this year. Our activities with this contest as well as many other activities and interaction with schools, teachers and students is paramount to our success as teachers of conservation. All of the individuals involved have put conservation and the valuable lessons that we must teach our children, our future, at the forefront and have provided many positive results. Again, we thank you for your support and dedication.

All 1st Place posters were sent to participate in the state poster contest. We are proud to announce that Dominik Anderson and Shanna Cooper won 1st Place in the State Poster Contest in their divisions and they will go on to compete in the National Poster Contest in February of 2009.

Congratulations to our winners and all those who participated. Our judges had a difficult task. Thanks to our dedicated judges Oudia Gilcrease, Rebecca Bell and Glenna Brown. You did a great job. A heart felt thank you to our sponsors, Caldwell Parish Farm Bureau, Jackson Parish Farm Bureau, Kiwanis Club of Columbia, Walker Eye Care and Winn Parish Farm Bureau. You have made this contest possible through your sponsorship of this project. We greatly appreciate your support. We extend our sincere thanks to our local school administrators, principals, teachers, and staff who willingly dedicate their valuable time. We would also like to thank the media who continually support our district, especially the Caldwell Watchman, the Jackson Independent, KVCL Radio, and the Winn Parish Enterprise Our contest would not be successful without each of you.
